Fans are facing an even longer wait for the third season of Stranger Things, however Netflix are assuring us that it will be worth it.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association’s press tour, programming executive for the streaming giant, Cindy Holland, confirmed that we won’t be seeing Stranger Things 3 until Summer 2019. However, she did offer a little comfort to fans by explaining that it will be better than Season 2.
Holland said, “It’s a handcrafted show. The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy, they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than last year. I think it’s going to be a fantastic season. It will be worth the wait.”
After the panel, she also told the crowd that this season will also have more special effects than previous outings. “It’s a really exciting season, just takes a little more time.”
Season 2 had mixed reviews from fans and critics like, so fans are likely hoping that this extra time will indeed make Stranger Things 3 “bigger and better” than ever. However, might making the series bigger than before with more special effects potentially detract from the fairly understated nostalgic treat we started with?
