From Russia with Love.
The first teaser for Stranger Things Season 4 is here and it confirms what fans have been hoping for since the end of last season – Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is alive and, well, in Russia.
This teaser begins where we left off: in the wintry landscape of Russia. In the clip, we see Russian soldiers patrolling a prison camp – including Game of Thrones’ actor Tom Wlaschiha – watching on as their prisoners are working on a train track.
As the camera moves along it pauses on one figure, who pulls off their hat, revealing it to be Hopper – but battered, bruised and bald – a far cry from the moustachioed, Magum-esque look we know and love.
Stranger Things’ creators, the Duffer brothers, said of the return: “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway – and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our American; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….”
They also added, “Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime–- pray for the American.”
David Harbour shared the teaser via Instagram, with the caption, “For the faithful, Happy Valentine’s Day”:
There’s no news yet on when Stranger Things will return for its fourth season, but there are rumours out there that the series will return on Thanksgiving this year, and given the show’s penchant for returning on or around the holidays, this could quite well be true.
