Good news for fans of Stranger Things, as you will soon be able to fill your Hawkins-shaped void with an official novel, Suspicious Minds, which will explore the backstory of Eleven’s mother, Terry Ives.
Entertainment Weekly has revealed that this first official Stranger Things novel, written by YA author Gwenda Bond, is part of a new project between Netflix and Penguin imprint Del Rey, which will aim to flesh out the backstories on some of the series’ beloved characters, digging deeper into the show’s mythology.
The novel is set before the events of the series, and follows Eleven’s mother in her time as a test subject in the MKUltra programme, which has only just begun to be explored in the show.
There isn’t much information on what we can expect from the book, but EW have revealed the official cover (above), as well as offering fans the opportunity to read the first chapter, which you can enjoy here.
Suspicious Minds will be released on February 5th, 2019.
