Still in its early development stages, Stunlock Studios has slowly been releasing tasters for their upcoming free-to-play game, Battlerite Royale. This week, the company have released some new screenshots from the game, along with their latest Development Update.
Not looking to replace Arena, Battlerite Royale is a more relaxed game in comparison, set to lessen the intense competitive nature of the original gaming experience. While skill will still be a big factor in gameplay, Royale will be far less punishing to new players, allowing for downtime between action, as well as a chance to adjust to circumstances.
Players will start on the island with only their M1 and Ultimate abilities, and from there, the rest of your Champion’s toolkit will need to be scavenged. As well as this, you can also find equipment and consumable items to increase certain stats (e.g. speed and health).
Right now, Royale is still in the development stage, and so this setup is subject to change, but you can keep updated on the Battlerite happenings here.
Since the launch of Battlerite, more than 4 million unique players have tried their luck in the arena, shooting Battlerite up to the top of the ‘top selling’ free-to-play games on Steam on several occasions. Each week players get access to six unique champions on free rotation, and every character can be permanently unlocked with in-game currency or in-app purchases. As of today, the “All Champion’s Pack” is available to unlock all 27 current and all future champions for $29.99/ €27.99/£23.79.
