For the past two seasons, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) has been learning to embrace her super-self as well as her alter-ego – but it seems that season three of the CW’s hit show will see Kara dedicate herself to her Superheroine side.
In the first Supergirl Season 3 trailer since Comic-Con, we see Kara with a jaded outlook on life after Mon-El’s disappearance, and the arrival of new villain Bloodsport. Briefly, we get a glimpse at Odette Annable’s Reign in her human form, as well as what seems to be a Supergirl statue in National City.
In other Supergirl Season 3 news, Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) has been announced as a series regular, while Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) has been demoted to a recurring character. Calista Flockhart will return briefly, and new additions to the series include Adrian Pasdar (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Morgan Edge, Carl Lumbly (formally the voice of Martian Manhunter) as J’onn J’onnz’s father, Yael Grobglas (Jane the Virgin) as villain Psi and Emma Tremblay (Wayward Pines) as Supergirl super-fan Ruby.
Supergirl Season 3 premieres October 9th
