Two decades after he was meant to be Superman, Nicolas Cage is finally getting his chance, as the actor is voicing the Man of Steel in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, which released its first trailer today.
The trailer is hilariously self-aware, poking fun at some of the best and worst of DC, as it includes a trailer with a trailer for an Alfred Pennyworth solo film based on Batman’s butler, and it also takes a shot at the less-than successful Green Lantern film which the heroes claim to not talk about.
Teen Titans Go! was the humorous spinoff of the Teen Titans animated series, and this film’s plot follows the team – Robin (Scott Menville), Starfire (Hynden Walch), Raven (Tara Strong), Cyborg (Khary Payton), and Beast Boy (Greg Cipes) – as they try to get a Hollywood director (voiced by Kristen Bell) to give them their own superhero movie. While doing this, they also have to face villain Slade, voiced by LEGO Batman’s Will Arnett. Alongside Cage’s Superman will be other members of the Justice League, including Halsey as Wonder Woman, and Lil Yachty as Green Lantern.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is set for release on July 27th.
