The attempted Men in Black and Jump Street crossover long-since abandoned, Sony is moving to reboot the Men in Black franchise in a more basic way.

Rumours have been circulating that Chris Hemsworth is nearing a deal to star in the reboot, and it seems that it could be something of a Thor: Ragnarok reunion, as his co-star Tessa Thompson is now in talks to join the project.

Should they both sign on to the project, they would be the newest pair of agents to protect the planet, and police the extra-terrestrial population that inhabit Earth in disguise. So, a little bit like what Thompson and Hemsworth were doing in their Ragnarok roles, but in regular clothes.

The new story, existing in the same universe as the trilogy which starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, will be directed by F. Gary Gray, from a script written by Matt Holloway and Art Macum. As long as everything goes well, Sony is looking to release the film in May next year.

Thompson, meanwhile, will return for the second season of Westworld next month, and is currently reprising her role as Bianca in Creed II, which has already begun filming.
