What a bidding war that would have been

J.J. Abrams has revealed that despite the highly-secretive nature of the latest Star Wars instalment, Rise of Skywalker, the real screenplay was put up for sale on eBay.

During an appearance on Good Morning America, the director revealed that thanks to an unnamed actor, the screenplay actually got out and was put up for sale. Apparently, the cast member left the script under their bed and someone who was cleaning their room found it and passed it on to another person who then tried to sell it on eBay.

Luckily, the company flagged the listing and was able to get the script back before anyone could buy it. Presumably, most who saw the listing would have believed it to be a fake, but according to Abrams, it was definitely the real deal.

The question that remains is who was the cast member responsible for such a leak?

Abrams wouldn’t name names, joking “I want to, but I won’t.”
