The latest name to be pulled from Disney’s hat of live-action remakes is Lady and the Tramp, and they’ve already got voices lined up.

Collider has revealed that The Leftovers’ star Justin Theroux is nearing a deal to lend his voice to Tramp in the live-action/CG remake of the film, which is expected to debut on Disney’s upcoming streaming service when it launches in late 2019.

The original 1955 animation told the story of an American cocker spaniel named Lady who lives the life of a pampered pooch, and a stray mongrel named Tramp who meet and embark on a romantic adventure.

While Disney are still searching for their leading Lady, Emmy-nominated actress Ashley Jensen is also joining the project as a Scottish Terrier named Jackie, who is one of Lady’s closest friends.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie’s Charlie Bean is set to direct the film from a script by Andrew Bujalski. Brigham Taylor is producing the film, that’s set to be an exclusive release on Disney’s streaming service and will not see a theatrical release – which really tells you all you need to know about the amount of faith Disney have in this production.
