The Warner Bros. live-action Titans series has cast Big Hero 6’s Ryan Potter as Beast Boy.

While DC Comics’ characters have been thriving on The CW, DC is looking to expand with their own streaming service, which will attract subscribers with exclusive DC programming. Titans will finally bring the Teen Titans group to the live-action world.

And while casting has been underway over the last few weeks, one role has remained unfilled – Garfield Logan a.k.a. Beast Boy. The transforming teen is a fan-favourite character, and now it has been announced that Big Hero 6 star Ryan Potter has landed the role.

CBR revealed Warner Bros. official announcement of the casting – and along with the casting of Beast Boy, the studio also released a description of the character that seems to stick very close to his comicbook roots:

“As a child, Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects. Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.”

Potter joins Brenton Thwaites as Robin, Teagan Croft as Raven, Anna Diop as Starfire, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove and Lindsey Gort as Amy Rohrbach. There are no other heroes expected to be cast, however, we are still waiting on the casting of the villainous Acolyte.

Titans will arrive on the new DC digital streaming service in 2018.
