“No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.”

The trailer for Hugh Jackman’s The Greatest Showman, an unusual musical biopic about P.T. Barnum and his fantastical circus and museum of “freaks”, has arrived.

This film has been a long-time passion project for the Wolverine actor, who’s fascinated by Barnum and is a big lover of musicals, having begun his career on the stage, and also won a Tony Award for his work in The Boy From Oz.

The official synopsis for the film reads:

“Inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business & tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.”

Also starring Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya (among others), it’s not just an excellent cast that this movie boasts, as the soundtrack comes courtesy of the Academy Award-winning lyricists of La La Land – sure to leave you with songs that  are stuck in your head for days to come.

The Greatest Showman hits theatres on December 20th.
