Following the teaser released earlier this week, Warner Bros. has now unveiled a full trailer for heist sequel, Ocean’s 8.
In this female-led heist comedy, Sandra Bullock plays Debbie Ocean, estranged sister of George Clooney’s Danny Ocean, who attempts the heist of her life at New York’s annual Met Gala. Joining Bullock is a star-studded team made up of Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.
Opening in a manner very similar to 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven, the trailer sees Bullock in an orange prison jumpsuit at a parole hearing. She promises that, upon her release, she will pursue “the simple life” – at which point we cut to her meeting with her team and planning a $150 million jewel heist.
The Julia Roberts and Andy Garcia characters rolled into one, Richard Armitage plays Debbie’s ex, and the target of the robbery. Alongside the stellar cast is a number of big cameos, including James Corden, Dakota Fanning, Matt Damon, Anna Wintour, Kim Kardashian West, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Olivia Munn, Katie Holmes, Zayn Malik, Zac Posen, Adriana Lima and Serena Williams.
The film is directed by Gary Ross, written by Ross and Olivia Milch, and produced by Clooney and Steven Soderbergh (director of the Clooney’s trilogy), and acts as both a sequel and a spinoff to the Ocean’s trilogy.
Ocean’s 8 is slated for release non 22nd June, 2018.
