One report seems to confirm he will
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, many fans thought we’d seen the last appearance of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark, however a new report has suggested that Stark will make an appearance in May’s Black Widow solo movie.
In a write-up of Marvel’s wins at last week’s Saturn Awards, Deadline wrote that Downey Jr. will be appearing at least “one more time” in the upcoming Scarlett Johansson-led Black Widow. However, this is all the article says on the matter, Deadline hasn’t gone into detail on how they know this.
It wouldn’t be crazy to think that Tony Stark would show up in the film – after all, Black Widow is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, and while Natasha was working as part of Cap’s Secret Avengers team, she could have easily crossed paths with Tony during this time. Given the events of the film will likely see Nat encounter people from her past who helped turn her into an assassin/spy, she might even need Tony’s help.
Nothing has been confirmed, but it would be nice for fans to see the duo who met their end in Endgame share the screen once more in the MCU.
We’ll see if the rumours are true when Black Widow hits cinemas on May 1st, 2020.
