Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman took the world by storm, so a sequel was guaranteed, and now we have our first look at the suitably retro sequel, Wonder Woman 1984.
Filming on the sequel is underway, and both Jenkins and her star, Gal Gadot have revealed some intriguing first-look images, as well as revealing what is probably the sequel’s title.
Gadot shared a stylish image of her as Diana, standing in front of some TV screens showing off brightly-coloured ‘80s imagery:

Whereas Jenkins decided to post a spoilerific tease, that shows Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor alive and well, in the mall wearing a tracksuit – and looking just as young as he did in the first film:

While the nature of his return is unknown, Steve will no doubt be completely out of his comfort zone around 40 years after he “died.”
Interestingly, both of the pictures were tagged with “Wonder Woman 1984” leading us to believe that this will probably be the title of the sequel, perhaps taking a leaf out of Blade Runner 2049’s book.
Suffice to say, for Wonder Woman fans, this tease has only served to stoke the excitement, and now we wait patiently for more – and perhaps a tease of Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah.
Wonder Woman 1984 is currently slated for release on November 1st, 2019.
