Thanks to the recent leaks across Twitter from various sources, Xbox fans were teased this week with an exclusive peek at what November’s day one limited Xbox One X: Project Scorpio Edition might look like, and boy did it set hearts a-racin’.

Thanks to now-removed listings from German retailers Saturn and MediaMarkt, images of the matte, all-black console and controller have surged across media platforms, with the stylish ‘Project Scorpio’ branding widely receiving praise and admiration from fans and critics alike. The console also seems to have received another aesthetic boost, with the panels being constructed with a sort of woven texture, giving it a little more “oomph” than the traditionally sleek material.

However, the true star of this story isn’t the console and its aesthetic. It isn’t even the excitement of playing the game ahead of release at EGX 2017. No. It’s the Doritos.

That’s right, Microsoft and Xbox have paired with the stereotypical gamer-snack giants over at PepsiCo. to create a limited edition line of tortilla chips. How, you ask – are they ‘X’ shaped? Or perhaps, they’ve somehow branded each chip with an ‘X’ somehow? Nope. They’re green.

There’s not much to say at this point, other than that they look moldy at best. The flavor is yet to be determined, however, the leaks and photographic evidence seem legitimate enough. It’s a questionable choice of branding aesthetically, but for all intensive purposes, the two companies certainly have synergy. Doesn’t mean we’ll be trying these virescent crisps anytime soon, though!
