After fans pleaded with them, AMC has asked Walking Dead mega-fan Yvette Nicole Brown to replace Chris Hardwick as moderator of the show’s SDCC panel.
While the network has yet to say anything publicly, Deadline has learned that the Talking Dead regular will replace long-time panel host Chris Hardwick for the July 20th panel, after sexual assault and emotional abuse allegations about the Talking Dead host came to light last month.
Brown is a frequently presence at the comic con, but she will make her moderating debut this year in a Hall H panel featuring AMC’s TWD as well as its spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead.
Details are yet to be finalised, but as it stands currently, the panel is expected to include Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, FearTWD’s Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Lennie James plus executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman and new TWD showrunner Angela Kang among others.
The decision to make Brown moderator falls in line with fan speculation that she will also be the one to take over Hardwick’s presenting role on Talking Dead when it resumes with TWD Season 9.
