Just weeks after it was announced that Yvette Nicole Brown would be moderating SDCC Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead panels, AMC have revealed that the Community actress and Talking Dead regular will front the aftershow while the investigation into Chris Hardwick alleged abuse is ongoing.
The network explained, “Yvette Nicole Brown will step in as an interim guest host of The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special on August 5 and Talking Dead when it returns following the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on August 12, as we work to complete our assessment related to Chris Hardwick.”
This not unsurprising announcement came just a week before the zombie series and its spinoff are scheduled to make an appearance in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con.
Chris Hardwick has consistently denied accusations of emotional and sexual abuse against his former girlfriend Chloe Dysktra, and this time last month AMC announced that the Nerdist founder had “decided to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.”
There’s no word yet if Brown will become the permanent host of Talking Dead when the show returns for its ninth season, but it’s seeming increasingly likely.
