I’m sure she’ll nail it.

The Batman actress Zoë Kravitz has admitted that it has been “scary” to become Catwoman for Matt Reeves’ upcoming film.

However, instead of becoming overwhelmed by the idea of taking on such an iconic comic book role, the actress has insisted that she has used this fear to make her work better.

She told Variety, “It was a little scary, but also whenever I get nervous about something, I feel it pushes me to a better place anyway, so I welcome the nerves.”

“If you start focusing too much on what people are going to think you’re doing yourself a disservice, it’s almost like you’re putting your energy in the wrong place.”

Kravitz added, “Of course, I want to honour the fans and hope they like what I do with the role, but in order to do what I think I need to do with Catwoman I have to go internal and forget about the rest of the world.”

The interview also saw her talk a little about working alongside Robert Pattinson, who takes the titular role in the film. While the two are apparently yet to film much together, Kravitz spoke about training and rehearsing with the actor.

“He’s just a delightful person and such a wonderful, thoughtful actor. I think he’s perfect for the role and it’s going to be such an adventure,” she said. “I’m excited to have him as my partner in crime and to be there to support each other, because it’s intense. It’s going to be a long shoot and there’s a lot of pressure, and I know he has my back and I have his.”

While we’ve already had our first glimpse at Pattinson in costume as the Dark Knight, we’re yet to see anything of how Catwoman will be looking in the film, and which of the many comic book iterations of the femme fatale we will be seeing on the big screen. Hopefully, Reeves will give us a taste of The Batman’s Selina Kyle soon enough.

The Batman hits cinemas on June 25th, 2021.
