Activision has shared a new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which focuses on the game’s Zombies mode, introducing players to four new playable characters and the setting for two of the three Zombies episodes available when the game launches later this year.
Following the story of Scarlett Rhodes, a woman whose father mysteriously disappeared 15 years earlier, Black Ops 4’s Zombies mode sees her cross paths with three “loyal outcasts” who team up with Scarlett to help her find her father. Their search then becomes entangled with an ancient relic which appears to have the power to create zombies, as well as transport the group back in time.
The trailer offers a glimpse at two of the Zombies chapters: Voyage of Despair and IX. The former is set aboard the Titanic, which has been overrun by a darkness which turns the passengers and crew into zombies, while the latter episode sees the group travel back in time to a Roman battle arena, where they have to fight zombie tigers and other terrifying monsters. Both Voyage of Despair and IX will be available to play when the game launches, along with a third episode – Blood of the Dead.
Unlike previous instalments, this game won’t feature a traditional single-player campaign, but rather a series of solo missions that focus on each character, as well as a battle royale mode called Blackout.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12th.
