Flashpoint actress Kiersey Clemons has signed on to star in the upcoming Zorro reboot, which is currently entitled, Z.
It has been two years since Gravity screenwriter Jonás Cuarón signed on to direct the Zorro reboot, and tapped Gael García Bernal to star as the vigilante himself, Don Diego de la Vega. And though the time since this announcement has been filmed with virtual silence, Variety has now confirmed that Kiersey Clemons has signed to co-star in Z.
While Variety doesn’t go into any detail about Clemons’ role, it does confirm that the film will take place in the near future, so it’s likely that this version of Zorro is one that we won’t have seen before.
Clemons has had success in a number of different projects, such as Dope, Transparent and Bad Neighbours 2, however at the moment she is probably best know for a role she is yet to play – Iris West in DC’s Flash solo movie, Flashpoint. Clemons’ West was originally supposed to feature in Justice League, however in all the film’s chopping and changing, her cameo was cut from the final version of the film.
More on the Zorro reboot if it doesn’t slip into obscurity once more.
